Jackson Park Bird Walk

  • Jackson Park United States (map)

David Rupp of IndiGo Birding Nature Tours will lead a relaxed bird walk around one of Chicago's birding hotspots, Jackson Park. Early September is the peak of migration for many songbirds, many of which stop at the park as they migrated along the lakefront. Join David in the search for these birds on the Wooded Island and surrounding lagoon. All levels of birders are welcome!

Leaders: David Rupp

You must RSVP in advance! Pre-registration is required. Please contact David Rupp (david@indigobirding.com) or Aerin Tedesco (aerintedesco@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend or with questions.

Total trip distance is approximately 2 miles and will take place mostly on wide paved, crushed-gravel, or wood-chip trails that are relatively level with minimal incline. We may leave the trail at times to walk through the grass for a better view of the birds. Any recent rain may create muddy conditions.
