Join COS for an afternoon walk as we decompress from a long day at work and look for birds at Palmisano Park Natural Area. We'll make our way at a leisurely pace around the park in search of any ducks, herons, sparrows and other migrants hanging around and wrap up with plenty of time for dinner. Beginning birders welcome and loaner binoculars will be available.

Accessibility:
Total trip distance is approximately 0.75 miles. Trails are a combination paved, metal "boardwalk", and dirt and has notable elevation changes throughout. Comfortable walking shoes or boots are recommended.
Restrooms are available at the field house from 8am - 9pm (across the street at McGuane Park).

Weather/Attire/Other:
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please bring bottled water. Dress for the weather. Based on the forecast, you may want to bring a hat and sunscreen and a light jacket. Loaner binoculars will be available.

Location and Transportation:
The exact meeting location will be emailed in advance to registrants. Free and metered parking is available on the street. Palmisano Park is accessible by public transit via Bus route 8 and Orange Line Halsted stop.

Public Health:
Please bring a face mask with you. You may be asked to wear it as needed by the trip leader.
