In a typical farm field in central Illinois, stands a large unassuming tree stump. At first glance, nothing about this setting appears particularly notable, but to birders, it is the stuff of legends. Over the years, this remnant of a bygone era has consistently been host to numerous rare and unusual birds. No one really knows why. Now a new documentary aims to tell the story the Magic Stump and the birder endeavoring to uncover its secrets.
