Birds & Bytes: Muskrats and Marsh Birds

Virtual Program

Nature’s champions can often come from unlikely places. One such champion is the muskrat, a natural wetland steward and partner in bird conservation. By generating their enormous domed homes, they alter marsh landscapes in a way that benefits birds and many other animals. Join us as researcher Leo Gaskins presents the results of an exciting study examining how muskrat behavior impacts animal biodiversity in the Calumet region and how we can use this positive species interaction to better conserve marsh birds.

All are welcome to attend this free event but RSVP is required.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

About our Speaker:
Leo Chan Gaskins is a community ecologist, PhD candidate at Duke University, and research partner with Audubon Great Lakes.
