Park 566 Bird Walk

  • Park 566 United States (map)

Come join us as we look for fall migrants at this rapidly changing park. We'll be looking for open country birds and early sparrows. We'll take some time to scope the lake for migrating ducks and recently arrived Horned Grebes. Plus, there's always a chance we'll run into a Short-eared Owl (or four!)

Leader: Carl Giometti — chicagiometti@gmail.com

RSVP here!

You must RSVP in advance! Limit: 20 people. Please contact the trip leader or aerin tedesco at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend: aerintedesco@gmail.com

Meet at the gate. The best place to park is along Lakeshore Drive. Wear sturdy boots, we will likely encounter some mud. Binoculars at a minimum (we will have pairs you can borrow). A scope will be helpful for scanning the lake but not necessary. Dress warm! This site is exposed and winds can often be harsh. Note, there are no bathroom facilities at park 566.
