North Pond Bird Walk

  • North Pond - Lincoln Park 2340 North Cannon Drive Chicago, IL, 60614 United States (map)

The North Pond Bird Walks are back!  We are limiting the number of participants to six on each walk, with appropriate safety measures given the pandemic environment in which we are all operating these days.  Preregistration is required; send an email to geoff@thirdcoastbirding.com with your name and the date of the walk that you'd like to join in order to request a space.  Participants must wear face coverings and practice physical ("social") distancing during the walk. Anyone feeling unwell or having any Covid-19 symptoms cannot attend. Binoculars, spotting scopes, field guides, or other items may not be shared among participants.

The group meets at 7:00am by the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum at the southeast corner of North Pond (2430 N. Cannon Dr.), usually on the casting pier at the south end of the pond, but sometimes between there and the museum lobby.

All walks take place on Wednesday mornings starting at 7:00a.m. The walks last for about 2 hours, but participants can readily leave before the end if they need to.

Results of the walks and other information are posted at http://geoffwilliamson.info/northpond
