Dr. Bridget Stutchbury, Distinguished Research Professor and Canada Research Chair in Ecology and Conservation Biology at York University, Toronto
Dr. Stutchbury, author of Silence of Songbirds, The Bird Detective and Behavioral Ecology of Tropical Birds, is hard at work on her fourth book, which delves into the thorny issues of which species we should choose to try to save from extinction.
Her program will focus on birds such as the California Condor, Whooping Crane and Kakapo. This program brings the difficult and soul-searching questions we confront in the Anthropocene era about what we can and should do for birds on the brink of extinction.
The presentation is free and begins at 6:30 pm, preceded by a cash bar and light refreshments at 6:00 pm.
