Palos Area Carpool Birding Blitz

  • Little Red Schoolhouse Nature Center United States (map)

Meet in the Little Red Schoolhouse Nature Center parking lot.

Join COS for a carpool trip to some of the best birding spots in the Palos area. We’ll start by checking the feeders and the slough at Little Red Schoolhouse. Then we will carpool from there to other birdy spots around the Palos area. Bring a scope if you have one! We’ll stop at Saganashkee slough where we should get a nice assortment of waterfowl. And we will hopefully run into Pileated and Red-headed woodpeckers somewhere along the way. This time of year will likely be a veritable grab bag of resident birds and early migrants so it will be hard to predict exactly what we might find--there is a potential for just about anything including White Pelican and Rusty Blackbird.

Beginning birders are welcome and we will have extra binoculars available.

RSVP here.
