Location: Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago
Date: Monday, 04/28/25
Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Join COS for an afternoon bird outing at Lincoln Park Zoo. The park’s Nature Boardwalk is an excellent example of restoring native habitats in urban environments. We will also be searching for migratory bird species such as flycatchers, vireos, and warblers. We will then visit the Black-crowned Night Heron breeding colony where–at this time of year–the nests are well-occupied by nesting pairs in the dozens. We will end our time together with enjoying the zoo. We’ll walk roughly 1.5 miles on paved paths based on bird activity and target species. Birders of all experience levels and ages are welcome to attend. Loaner binoculars will be available.
