Join COS for a hike through one of the Chicago Park District's newest natural areas; Marian Byrnes Park! With over 100 acres of wetlands, prairie, and savannah to explore, we'll be on the look out for a variety of early migrants including rails, warblers, sparrows, and raptors.

Accessibility:

Total trip distance is approximately 1.5 miles and will take place on paved and level trail. We may leave the trail at times to walk through the grass for a better view of the birds. Any recent rain may create muddy conditions.

Restrooms are unavailable.

Weather/Attire/Other:

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please bring bottled water. Dress for the weather. Based on the forecast, you may want to bring hats and sunscreen, long pants and bug spray, and a light jacket. Ticks can be expected here. Loaner binoculars will be available.

The exact meeting location will be emailed in advance to registrants. Free street and parking lot parking is available. Public transit to site is available via Jeffery Blvd. bus, route 15.

COS supports the decision of individual trip participants to wear masks.
