Join COS for morning birding at Jackson Park. This urban hotspot draws birds and birders from all over for the park’s beautiful landscape. We’ll walk a 2-mile loop and learn about Chicago’s resident and wintering bird species. Birders of all experience levels are welcome to attend. Loaner binoculars will be available.
Leader: Sammy Cabindol
Pre-registration is required. Please contact Sammy Cabindol (wildlifesammy@gmail.com) or Chris Holden (twoheadedvireo@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend or with questions.
Accessibility:
Total trip distance is approximately 2 miles and will take place mostly on wide paved, crushed-gravel, or wood-chip trails that are relatively level with minimal incline. We may leave the trail at times to walk through the grass for a better view of the birds. Any recent rain may create muddy conditions.
There are no public bathrooms available (the fieldhouse bathrooms are closed on Sundays).
