Join COS this Fall Migration for a morning birding trip out to McHenry Dam, the southwest portion of Moraine Hills State Park. McHenry County is a favorite destination for many city birders who want to take a break from the hustle and bustle. The park’s savannas, woodlands, and wetlands host 248 bird species throughout the year. We will walk the park’s paved 2-mile Fox River Trail in search for species including Least Bittern, Sandhill Crane, and Red-headed Woodpecker. Loaner binoculars will be available.
