Jackson Park Bird Walk

  • Jackson Park Stony Island and 57th Chicago, IL USA (map)

Join IndiGo Birding Nature Tours guide David Rupp for a walk through Jackson Park. We will look for warblers, vireos, thrushes, and all other Neotropical migrants that are passing through the park on the first day of May. All levels of birders are welcome!

Leaders: David Rupp

Pre-registration is required. Please contact David Rupp (david@indigobirding.com) or Christina Harber (ceharber@yahoo.com) at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend or with questions.

Accessibility:

Total trip distance is approximately 2 miles and will take place mostly on wide paved, crushed-gravel, or wood-chip trails that are relatively level with minimal incline. We may leave the trail at times to walk through the grass for a better view of the birds. Any recent rain may create muddy conditions.

Parking lot portable toilets are available.

Weather/Attire/Other:

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please bring bottled water. Dress for the weather. Based on the forecast, you may want to bring a hat and sunscreen as well as a light jacket. Loaner binoculars will be available.
