A Year of the Peregrine Falcon program

Peregrine Falcons are right at home in Chicago’s urban cliffs and canyons and can be seen tearing through the sky in search of food for hungry chicks. Join COS President Edward Warden as we go out in search of these mighty birds and see them in action.

You must RSVP in advance. Pre-registration is required for the bird walk. Please contact Edward (edwarhzan@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend or with questions.

Accessibility:
Total trip distance is approximately 1.5 miles and will take place mostly on paved city side walks and park paths with some walking on turf possible. Entire trip is relatively level with minimal incline.
Possible public bathrooms at select locations along route.

Weather/Attire/Other:
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please bring bottled water. Dress for the weather. Based on the forecast, you may want to bring a heavy coat, rain gear, a hat, and gloves. Loaner binoculars will be available.

Location and Transportation:
The exact meeting location will be emailed in advance to registrants. Paid parking is available on the street as well as in multiple nearby parking garages. Use of public transit is highly encouraged. Meeting location is accessible by dozens of public transit routes that travel to the loop area.

Public Health:
Please bring a face mask with you. You may be asked to wear it as needed by the trip leader.
