Montrose is a great place to bird at any time but the midway period of southern bird migration can be very interesting with a broad array of birds landing at the site depending on the weather.
It’s likely that we’ll see plenty of sparrows, warblers, shore birds, possibly fly-by waterfowl and many other species.
Chicago Group of the Sierra Club will conduct a beach and park clean up on the same day beginning at 9:00 if you would like to help clean up the area to make it safer place for birds and other animals. Treats and coffee are provided to (human) beach cleaner uppers!
