The Chicago Ornithological Society in partnership with Feminist Bird Club Chicago* are happy to welcome all birders to a community field trip to beautiful Humboldt Park. Come with us to explore some of the 207 acres of this urban hotspot, which include a variety of natural areas and habitats. In mid-June the park bursts with young life, including ducklings and goslings. We can expect to see many breeding birds in the park, including Barn Swallows, Killdeer, Eastern Kingbirds, Northern Flickers, and Red-tailed Hawks. This is a family-friendly birdwalk. Beginning birders, Humboldt Park residents, and birders with disabilities are encouraged to attend. LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC birders will be prioritized for registration. Loaner binoculars will be available.
*This walk is co-sponsored by the Feminist Bird Club of Chicago. To ensure an environment that is welcoming and inclusive to all, please review the Feminist Bird Club's Birding Code of Conduct prior to attending this event. The Code of Conduct can be accessed on FeministBirdClub.org/Resources or by following this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vL4xY5uf6oNkoKbmMkwD5Uiavdb505_hESciQ0_S_ow/edit
