Richard Clark park is a mixed-use park with playing fields, a boat launch and riverside trail along the north branch of the Chicago River (eastern shore) just south of Addison street. . Its amenities are heavily used by people, including from nearby Lane Tech, but it can be very birdy during migration. The riverside trail goes along the fields and then past a wooded section of the park with big trees and a 'secret' dirt bike trail. We will also hopefully be able to see ducks in courtship on the river. Birds such as Fox Sparrows, White-crowned sparrows and Catharus thrushes can be found in the woods and may be singing. Warblers are also a good bet there.
This trip can be a bit muddy at times. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
