Join Chicago Ornithological Society on an evening hike to observe the spectacular mating dance of the elusive Timberdoodle (American Woodcock). All ages and experience levels are welcome on this twilight adventure.
Please dress aggressively for the weather with multiple layers as temperatures can drop rapidly after sunset and timberdoodling is frigid business. Flashlights permitted but not required and loaner binoculars will be available.
Total trip distance is approximately 0.5 miles. Trail is unpaved, often muddy, and sometimes under water so sturdy, waterproof footwear is strongly recommended.
Leader: Edward Warden
