Join COS for a bird walk through Northerly Island that will also highlight some of the park's botanical treasures there and their importance to birds. This restored prairie and lagoon complex in the heart of Chicago, is a unique habitat that is a winter home to a variety of sparrows, raptors, a wide array of waterfowl, and much more. Beginning birders welcome and loaner binoculars will be available.

Accessibility:
Total trip distance is approximately 1 mile. Trail is paved and has moderate elevation changes throughout.
Weather/Attire/Other:
Comfortable walking shoes or boots are recommended. Please bring a water bottle. Dress for the weather; hats, gloves, and layers are highly encouraged as the park is particularly exposed to lakefront winds.
Location and Transportation:
Meet at the Northerly Island visitor center. Meter parking is available onsite in the parking lot north of the visitor center. Public transit to site is available via 146 bus route.
