Rutherford-Sayre Park Mindful Little Sit

  • Rutherford-Sayre Park 6871 West Belden Avenue Chicago, IL, 60707 United States (map)

Join us for an evening Little Sit at the nature garden in Rutherford Sayre Park. During the Little Sit we will hone our observation skills and use mindfulness techniques to enjoy the species that find us, while learning about individual birds and the stories they have to tell. The nature garden is in a natural area of the park and provides a good opportunity to discover migrating songbirds, including kinglets, nuthatches, wrens, thrushes, warblers, and sparrows. Ample seating in and near the garden allows us to rest and watch; optionally, we can walk along the short trail through the prairie to find additional birds. You are encouraged to bring a notebook and writing or sketching instruments to record your observations.
