In cooperation with Third Coast Birding and Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, COS is proud to continue our long tradition of Wednesday morning bird walks at North Pond!
Join expert birder and former COS President Geoff Williamson for a bird walk at one of the premier birding hotspots in Chicago to observe and learn about our feathered neighbors. All ages and experience levels welcome. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars.

Location and Transportation:
Meet near the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum on the casting pier at the southeast corner of North Pond. The group proceeds counterclockwise around the pond from there.
Free street parking is available along both Cannon Drive and Stockton Drive. Public transit to site is available via several busses including the 76, 143, 151, and 156 routes.

Accessibility:
Total trip distance is approximately 0.75 miles. Trail is paved (though cracked and uneven at points) and has minor elevation changes throughout.
Weather/Attire/Other:
Comfortable walking shoes or boots are recommended. Dress for the weather; hats are highly encouraged.
Public Health:
Please bring a face mask with you. You may be asked to wear it as needed by the trip leader.
