Chicago River Basin Blitz

  • Park 571 2829 S Lock St Chicago, IL, 60608 United States (map)

Chicago's many waterways are some of the best places to observe over wintering waterfowl, raptors, and other avian life. Join us as we conduct a blitz of some of the best spots on the Chicago River to observe this annual winter birding phenomenon. Beginning birders are welcome and extra binoculars will be available.

Trip will primarily be conducted via car caravan with very little walking. Please dress aggressively for the weather with multiple layers.

Leader: Edward Warden

You must RSVP in advance. Pre-registration is required for the bird walk. Please contact Edward (edwarhzan@gmail.com) or aerin tedesco (aerintedesco@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend or with questions.

In order to attend you must be FULLY VACCINATED. Please bring a face mask with you. You may be asked to wear it as needed by the trip leader.
