Calumet Shorebird Birding Trip

  • Burnham Prairie E 139th St & S Manistee Ave Burnham, IL USA (map)

Join COS as we kick off the fall migration season in search of some of the earliest southbound migrants, shorebirds! We will scour some of the Calumet region's most promising habitats while also looking to pick up lingering breeding marsh and grassland birds as well.

All ages, experience levels, and backgrounds are welcome on this trip. Shorebirding can often be tough, but we'll learn together.

This trip will involve a combination of hiking and driving to various locations. Exact itinerary may change based on habitat and weather conditions on the day of. Please come prepared with ample insect protection of your choice and more than one bottle of water."
