Plover Chicks' Name Reveal!

Plover Chicks get names (2).png

A few short weeks ago, Chicago's Piping Plovers, Monty and Rose, yet again made history by nesting at Montrose Beach and raising three healthy young chicks. All three chicks were successfully fitted with colored leg bands identifying them for life and now are in need of names. We asked for name submissions that in some way reflect Chicago's history, culture and diversity, and you delivered! The range of names we received speaks volumes about our city's deep and diverse history as well as Chicagoans' pride and creativity. After much deliberation, three names have been chosen from the hundreds of names you submitted for consideration. On Saturday, July 11 at 4pm, join us on Facebook live as we announce the three winning names just in time for Monty and Rose's chicks to officially fledge into full adults.
