Trip Report: Montrose Bird Walk 2012 June 1
Alex Bloss, Sam Burckhardt, Jill Niland, Marcus Roening (from Washington state) and I roamed around a waterlogged Montrose Point for a while, this morning, under the auspices of the Chicago Ornithological Society. The actual walk had few highlights, perhaps the best being an American Redstart.
Prior to the walk, Sam, Alex and I had Dunlin (breeding plumage), Mourning Warbler (singing at eye level at the north end of the Magic Hedge), and a possible 2nd cycle Greater Black-Backed Gull that was noticed by Sam as it was flying in place (the wind was rather strong) over the lake just off the fishhook pier.

Marcus and I went on to Jarvis, where our only two new birds for the morning were American Crow and Red-eyed Vireo.
